Spotted: Keira Knightley blossoms in Erdem

by Katie Wright

Pulling off quite the sartorial coup today, Keira Knightley is the first celeb we’ve spotted wearing a dress from the Erdem AW2010 collection – only just shown on the catwalk a few weeks ago. Attending the Lawrence Olivier Awards, where she is nominated for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Keira certainly wins in our style category. This floor length black gown with delicate red and blue butterfly print strikes a perfect balance – it’s glamourous enough for the red carpet, but the t-shirt sleeves and simple cut gives it an edge. Erdem was one of the most well-received collections during Fashion Week as it was reported that buyer Brix Smith-Start was so overwhelmed by the beauty of it all that she was in tears by the end of the show. Later that week, designer Erdem Moralioglu picked up the Best British Designer at the Elle Style Awards. No wonder stars like Keira are keen to be seen in his gowns.

At the time of publication it had not been announced whether Keira had won in her category – we just could not resist breaking the news first! What do you think of Keira’s dress, hit or miss? Let us know your votes

Sadly our Keira didn’t win Best Supporting Actress – it went to Ruth Wilson for A Streetcar Name Desire.
