Rachel Zoe was spotted in her trademark huge sunglasses yesterday at New York fashion week, hanging out backstage at Prabal Gurung’s Fall 2o10 show. The appearance of the uberstylist might explain why Demi Moore has been favouring Gurung’s clothes of late – as any fan of The Rachel Zoe Project will know, Demi and Rachel are total BFFs. Also happy to be snapped on the front row was Avatar actress Zoe Saldana, perhaps keeping her eyes peeled for the perfect dress for Academy Awards night.
And what did Zoe have to choose from on the catwalk? Well for day, dense fabrics in a mostly monochrome colour palette were fashioned in minimalist and futurist shapes – dense cocoon coats, peplums, fur and gauntlet gloves converged to create a tough yet elegant urban feel. By contrast, for evening there was froth and feminity galore on cocktail dresses and floor length gowns that we think Miss Saldana would happily don for the Oscars red carpet.
