Even though i promised i was not going to get excited about Sex and the City 2, because of the major disappointment i felt after the first one, i suddenly find myself all excited again. I am even more disappointed in myself for having to gush right after seeing this poster when i should be exhibiting horrified gestures at the thought of it all. I blame the DVD (which i have watched like a million times and still counting) for making me an addict. Take a look for yourself at the first major poster released today and see whether you can contain yourself much better than me. Still six months to go before Carrie & co hit our big screen but already there is just so much to keep us going until then.
First is the fashion of course. In this poster, Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing the outfit we saw her wear a couple of months ago when filming began in NYC. She looks glamorous in a white Halston Heritage dress. She’s also spotted wearing a $525 gold Mykita & Bernard Willhelm’s Franz Limited-Edition Aviator sunglasses and Solange Azagury-Partridge necklace. And of course, there will be no Carrie Bradshaw without a pair of fabulous shoes and bag – this time a £1,975 pair of Christian Louboutin Pigalle gold sequinned heels and a gold Chanel clutch.
However, the poster is lacking our favourite girls - Kim Cattrall(a.k.a Samantha-my favourite character), Cynthia Nixon(Miranda) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte) which makes me wonder what they are planning in this sequel. Would it be all about Carrie and Big again? Some of the rumours i have heard about this movie is very confusing.
Photos have emerged of Samantha wearing a wedding dress on location in New York, so will the woman who has sworn never to get married actually get married? Miley Cyrus, apparently has a brief cameo alongside Kim Cattrall where she is assumed to be wearing the same dress as her when she attended a premiere of Smith’s movie. So does that mean Samantha and Smith get back together? Also there is another rumoured plotline about how Carrie’s marriage to Mr Big (Chris Noth) will run into trouble, including the mogul suffering into financial problems as a result of the current economic crisis.
And then i hear that stars making cameo appearances in this movie include Penelope Cruz, Liza Minnelli and British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili. Whatever the plot this time, i just hope that Michael Patrick King remembers what we liked about the TV series – which is four women trying to go against society’s expectation to find happiness -so he does not forget to incorporate it into the sequel this time around, we shall see. Sex And The City 2 is due for release in the UK and US on 28 May 2010.

This has to be one of the best movies of all time, i am looking forward to seeing this sequel too
