Katy Perry knows how to make headlines in so many ways and last Thursday night was no different when she hosted the EMA’s in Berlin. For the ceremony, she was spotted in different outfits that would have made Dita Von Teese proud but it was this breath taking creation straight off the Victor & Rolf catwalk that got our pulse racing. The dress which made headlines back in October during Paris Fashion Week, according to the designer duo, was inspired by the credit crunch. While every designer was playing it safe due to the economy, V&R decided to go the opposite direction by hacking through their dresses with chain saws, literally. Katy Perry, also not one to play it safe when it comes to experiments must have been drawn to this outfit like cherry chap sticks. It was a bustier dress with a solid mass of net ruffles that saw a hole tunneled through it from front to back with its edges skillfully chopped off.
Truly fabulous but be prepared to handle the attention if you want this dress as you would definitely turn more than a few heads. However, if like us you prefer a more toned down version to see you through this recession, opt for this Lipsy gorgeous mesh prom dress for £65, and make the same statement with none of the gaps in between.
